We had a very bad experience with this person,Tony McVay. When we first hired him he was grateful and appeared eager to do the jobs we asked of him but as he got other jobs he left our jobs unfinished. He ordered up to 10 times the materials needed. Finally when he recently blew in to do a small job which I owed him half, he then wanted his money right away. We told him no, that he would get paid when he finished the jobs that have been waiting to be completed. The jobs include jobs I paid in full for because he told me he was going to "wrap it up" in May, here it is late September and they are left undone. I told him to return the keys . Finally he became verbally insulting in a sexist way and told me in an email he took my bathroom door off and I would get it back when I paid him and refused to return my keys. This is my vacation house. We live over 200 miles away and we are both disabled Vets. He also messed up our brand new refrigerator by unplugging it and letting the food spoil which continuses to smell. We had to call the Sheriff on this guy. He now says he has a contract with a real estate company to sell houses and said he is booked for months so it is obvious he had no intention of finishing our jobs. There is alot more but you get the idea. Stay Away from this guy!

This is Anthony McVay, owner operator with a response to Carol Forbes review. All businesses will from time to time have a client that just simply will not be reasonable.
We worked on the Forbes house for over a year. We had keys and keys were in the garage for any and all subcontractors to gain access at any time. We were put in charge of keeping a eye on the project and the other contractors workmanship. The project was delayed , held up , changed more times than I can count. We had multiple contracts with the Forbes for numerous projects.
In the final project we were scheduled to do in the winter of 2011, we had greatly discounted the job because it was winter work ( our slow season). Our projects at Forbes were delayed time and time again by issues with plumbers and electricians. The projects continued to be delayed into our busy season, summer 2012, it was difficult for us to get to it at this point but we finished 2 of the final 3 projects that we were contracted. At this time Mrs Forbes ask us to remove the custom wormey chestnut door we had built for minor adjustments. When we billed Mrs Forbes for the completed projects, she refused to pay unless I did several items that were not in any of our contracts. We told Mrs Forbes we were happy to do these at an extra charge and she got quite unreasonable and then fired us. Mrs Forbes continued to refuse to pay the final bill so we held her door until payment was made. This is what any business can and will do. The Forbes then accused us of stealing the door , breaking into their house, unplugging their fridge. The Forbes then went on to post slander, lies in every internet forum they could. All of them removed except this one. BBB does not remove this because we are allowed to respond.
